Male Shots.
If you look in any leading photo magazine or modelling website you would think that males never have their photograth taken.
All photographers want to photograph the ladies, and not always for the best of reasons.
Now I am happy shooting anyone - because everyone will in one way or another make an interesting image. But what I did'nt want to do on my recent work was to become one of the pack.
By that I mean I did not want to shoot typical images seen everywhere.
Working with male subjects gives me that - and as most are actors and performers the shoot agenda is always interesting and often creative.
So many photographers around who will work with new and inexperienced "models" are looking for "adult" style work a lead into the porn industry. This is often the case with males, because so few photographers will work with them they have less options open to them.
I work with all ages from on average 8 up and make it an absolute policy not to shoot anything I would be consider adult or questionable in context. I spend a lot of time advising on potential pitfalls and how to avoid them when starting out infront of the camera.
I follow this with either sex, but this does not mean I exclude within context nudity for example with actors training in performance lead work.
The fact is that anyone starting out in the business is safe working with me because I do not shoot adult work, but at the same time offer realistic shoots to what the performance and allied industries demand.
In this section we cover "shooting males" - when I was a student that meant normally an old man smoking a pipe.. but now is a much more open brief.
